PSP Sports And More began as a sports league for private Christian homeschool families. It has expanded to include other avenues of support for these homeschool families like fine arts, language arts, science, and foreign language classes. PSP Sports And More was founded by Jeff & Kerry Byers who are the parents of five homeschooled children (four have graduated high school). The Byers had been coaching in secular sports leagues for 20 years and felt called to start a league where God is not excluded.
Through our programs, like-minded families are brought together for participation in sports and other class activities. They have a place to fellowship with other homeschool families, which bring encouragement and support. Our theme Scripture is II Timothy 4:7 (NKJV),
“I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith.”
Paul is talking about his victory in serving Christ. That is the goal of PSP Sports And More-to encourage and equip homeschool families to fight the good fight and finish the race in faith.
Our coaches/teachers are highly qualified in their respective sports/classes and are always encouraged to place God as the center of their coaching. This God perspective is what makes PSP Sports And More different. We enforce our Code of Conduct and Dress Code at all of our activities for participants, family members and guest alike to encourage an atmosphere that brings glory and honor to Christ.
PSP Sports And More is for the whole family and we offer most events for ages two through college. Our sports/classes last approximately four weeks to one semester long. Horseback riding and music lessons are privately scheduled.
Our vision is to build a program that has other chapters of this league, and to fill needs that families may have in sports and other areas of their homeschool education.
